The Allison Ramsey Color Collection: 45 Curated Colors with Sherwin-Williams
If you’ve spent any time on our social media, you’ve probably seen the question pop up again and again:
“What color is that?”
And honestly—we love it.
It tells us you’re paying attention, imagining, dreaming, and picturing yourself in our house plans. That kind of engagement is exactly why we do what we do. The only challenge? We don’t always get to choose the colors ourselves. In fact, most of the time, those decisions belong to our clients.
But after hearing that question so often, we realized something: we could do more to help.
So we did.

Introducing the Allison Ramsey Color Collection
We’re excited to share our new Allison Ramsey Color Collection in partnership with Sherwin-Williams—a curated digital palette of 45 colors chosen specifically for the homes we love to design.
These aren’t just random picks. Every color was carefully selected with the character of Lowcountry architecture in mind, while still offering enough range to feel right at home anywhere—from the mountains of North Carolina to the Gulf Coast, to lakeside living in Oklahoma.

We looked closely at every element of a home’s exterior—siding, trim, shutters, doors—and pulled together colors that work beautifully together. We also organized the collection into color categories, so you don’t have to guess where each color should go.
Think of this collection as a starting point: a place to begin, a guide to build from. Because while we firmly believe that color is personal, we also know that a little direction can go a long way.
Once you have the basics, we hope you take it further—mix, match, experiment, and make it your own.

Why Sherwin-Williams?
Partnering with Sherwin-Williams was an easy decision.
Beyond their trusted quality and global presence, they’ve been our go-to color resource for years. Some of us still have our original “Historic Charleston Collection” brochures tucked away in the office—well-worn, a little faded, and still incredibly useful.
That collection, along with others like it, helped inspire us to create something of our own—something tailored to the homes we design and the clients we serve.
To help make the collection even more useful, we’ve paired it with a few tools that make choosing and using color easier. From exploring how each shade fits into the home through our color categories, to trying combinations with our AI Customizer, to browsing real-life inspiration in our Photo Gallery, we hope these resources give you a helpful starting point as you begin to imagine what’s possible.
See Your Colors with Our AI Customizer

Color selection is no longer just about imagining—it’s about seeing.
Our AI Customizer allows you to generate realistic exterior images using details from your home and specific shades from the Allison Ramsey Color Collection. By including our color names and where you plan to use them—siding, trim, shutters, doors, or porch ceilings—you can quickly explore different palettes and get a close visual of how those choices might look in real life.
It’s not meant to replace final paint samples, but it’s a useful way to compare options, narrow down your favorites, and feel more confident in your decisions.

Find Inspiration in Real Homes
If you’re someone who likes to see ideas in action, our Photo Gallery is a great resource.
With hundreds of real-world home photos, you can explore completed projects, study color combinations, and find inspiration from homeowners who have been exactly where you are now. You might even spot your house plan—or one very close to it—brought to life.
There’s nothing wrong with borrowing inspiration. In fact, it’s one of the best ways to refine your own vision.
A Final Thought on Color
We’ll always say it: color is personal.
But it’s also shaped by experience, regional style, and combinations that simply work. Our goal is to give you a strong starting point—something that feels both approachable and inspiring.
From there, the creativity is yours.
We’ll be right here to guide you whenever you need us.
Special Note: While our palette contains classic colors selected from Sherwin-Williams' core collection- indicated by SW colors, DCR colors are from their iconic regional palette- The Colors of Historic Charleston, which benefits the preservation work of the Historic Charleston Foundation. These colors are drawn from local colonial architecture through important periods of development accommodating city growth resulting in an incredible array of architectural hues. That collection inspired us to create a distinctive palette of our own—something tailored to the homes we design and the clients we serve. Samples of both SW and DCR colors are available at all Sherwin-Williams stores.
