Built as the 2019 Southern Living Inspired Home on Cape Fear Station, this cottage became a standout example of how coastal homes can be both refined and relaxed. Nestled on Bald Head Island, the Altamaha River Cottage features breezy porches, generous gathering spaces, and Lowcountry-inspired detailing throughout. Today, it’s available as a house plan—ready to be built anywhere you want to live intentionally.

In 2013, we partnered with Southern Living, Bald Head Island, Ltd., and Whitney Blair Custom Homes to create something special: the island’s first Southern Living Inspiration Home. The result was The Craven—a 2,200 sq. ft. home with gracious porches, outdoor living, and an open floor plan designed for beach life. As the first in a 24-unit inspired community, The Craven helped transform the area into one of the most desirable places to live on the island. It’s now available as a stock plan for those dreaming of breezy, barefoot days.

Located just steps from the Village Center in Habersham, East Beach Cottage was designed in partnership with Patterson Residential to serve a specific market: empty nesters who wanted charm, quality, and just enough yard to garden or let the dogs out. This cottage became the Southern Living Inspired Home for the Habersham community—and a shining example of what happens when small scale meets high design. Ranging from 1,600–2,100 sq. ft., these homes sold out quickly, and today, East Beach Cottage is available as a plan for others looking to build something beautifully scaled and full of character.
